UCL gameweek 2 preview
The champions league returns tonight 7:45pm and here are the matches for today 26th September 2017.
Tonight games promises to be interesting like any other champions league match, with tonight’s highlight probably going to be on Borussia Dortmund vs Real Madrid.
Borussia Dortmund lost their first match to Tottenham at Wembley stadium, but will be hoping to bounce back at the Signal Iduna park, especially as they haven’t lost any match at home this season.
Dortmund recently blew Borussia Monchegladbach away and would be hoping Andriy Yarmelanko, Emerick Aubameyang and Phillip Maximiliano can re show their red hot form to beat Madrid.
Peter Bosz would have a selection problem as all his outfield players have been great this season, American wonderkid who was recently nominated for the golden boy award would also be wishing to get a start, the American who clocked 19 on Monday, has started all but one of Dortmund’s Bundesliga games this season and would hope to continue.
Mario Gotze would be returning for Dortmund after a short stint with Bayern Munich and longterm illness, but he should make the bench, Dortmund’s shot stopper Burke has concedeed only one goal this season in what has been a very good season so far leading Bayern Munich with 3 points in the Bundesliga.
Meanwhile Madrid’s season has been a Topsy-Turvy one, the Los Blancos hit man Ronaldo hasnt found the net in the La Liga since he returned from suspension and Madrid only had to depend on Dani Ceballos strikes to see of Alaves in the absence of midfield maestro Kroos and should probably start against Dortmund with Kroos just returned from injury.
Although Ronaldo scored a double in their previous champions league match and Real Madrid have been known for upping their games in big matches, but they really have to work to beat Dortmund at home especially with tgeir defence looking shaky as Marcelo recuperates from injury and Dani carvajal’s form still in doubts.
Isco should likely start up front with Ronaldo and Bale in what is still a threatening front 3 and Casemiro, Modric, Kroos or Ceballos should play in the middle.
