Islam Slimani hands Liverpool cup defeat
Algerian’s Islam Slimani was in hand to send Liverpool out of the EFL cup and pile more misery on Jurgen Klopp.
The 29 years old scored the second goal of the match to wrap things up as substitute Shinji Okazaki opened the scoring in the second half, Slimani then handed the death blow to Liverpool in the 78th minute.
Leicester qualifies for the fourth round of the EFL cup and Liverpool exits the competition in the early state. “It feels strange, it feels wrong. We played offensive football, dominant football, possession football how it should be. We created moments. You cannot create in each situation a finishing situation, but we did it absolutely often enough. It could have been more often, of course, because withone better decision here or there then we would have had a few more.” Those were Jurgen Klopp’s worss after the match at King Power Stadium, truly Liverpool were dominant but couldn’t put the ball into their opponent’s net.
Jurgen Klopp would be hoping things change when they face Leicester again on Saturday in the 6th round of the English Premier League at the King Power Stadium once more.
