Self-acclaimed ‘African Giant’, Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy has provided an update as to why he didn’t join the #EndSars protest at first.

Burna Boy was dragged with maximum effort during the first few days of the #EndSars protest which started a week ago in the country, this was because he was rather mute during the beginning.

Nigerians wondered why a vibrant voice like the ‘Twice as Tall’ crooner could be silent at a time like that, which led to him being canceled on social media.

His partner, Stefflon Don however stood up for him on social media, saying Burna Boy was doing something that will effect change rather than just tweeting, then moments later, Burna Boy announced that his #EndSars billboards were now in different parts of the country.

Now, Burna Boy has also explained the reason for his silence at first. According to him, his mother, Bose Ogulu just had a surgery and he was dealing with a family issue when the protest started, hence his silence.

Taking to Twitter, he wrote, “I was Dealing with a Personal Family issue at the Beginning of these Protests . My mum Had Serious Surgery last week! We were all invested in making sure she recovers! i am not about that “put it all out on social media” life.We decided the focus must solely be on this protest.

Burna Boy added, “In life before you reach conclusions it’s always good to check as you don’t know what people are going through . Play whatever song you like at these Protests but Let’s just keep fighting Together. Follow @protectng2020 we are here to help#sarsmustend #EndPoliceBrutalityinNigeria“.
